Actor

Nicki trained in classical theatre at VCA before being launched into a successful early career predominantly on screen. Her numerous youthful film roles include “Boulevard of Broken Dreams’. For TV, her most enduring successes (still re-broadcast today) include Sarah in ‘Return to Eden’ and Miss Scarlet in ‘Cluedo’.

During her twenties and thirties, she moved between theatre, radio, television and film, with guest or ensemble roles in many of the major television series of the time, including ‘Prisoner’, ‘Flying Doctors’, ‘Neighbours’, and for international release, ‘Ocean Girl’ and ‘Time Trax’.

She played Lady Capulet in the Royal Botanic Gardens for a record summer season in 1995, before migrating to the UK (birth place of her parents). Returning in 2000, she re-launched her Australian career with a series of stage plays including Howard Barker’s ‘Wounds to The Face’, ‘Macbeth’, ‘The Birthday Party’, ‘Hamlet’ (doubling Ophelia with Gertrude), and ‘Lens’ at independent theatres across Melbourne.

A prolific voice over artist and occasional guest artist for TV and film, she returned to University in mid-life to complete a Master of Business degree with a thesis entitled, ‘The Business of Being an Artist’. The thesis became the basis of workshops for artists on campuses around the country.
